Block Paving Sanding
OK so you probably know about cleaning your block paving but did you know that after cleaning it should be re-sanded?
Not only that but it should then be sealed.!
These are two very important steps!
When you clean your block paving it removes a LOT of the sand between the blocks.
This can make the blocks unstable and means that they will move and become dislodged.
Not only that but it creates cavites for weeds to grow.
Which is one of the reasons you cleaned your block paving in the first place.
Now lets clear a few other things up
Can you can use a domestic power washer to clean your paving?
Yes – but it will take much, much longer and more importantly it will not be anywhere as effective.
Can you power wash and and sand on the same day?
Yes – if you want to waste all your hard earned cash having it cleaned in the first place if paying for it or just your time if doing it yourself.
If you get me to clean, sand and seal your paving then do not expect to see me again for a good few days after cleaning it.
Even then it depends on the weather.
The paving “between” the blocks must be bone dry otherwise the new sand will not fall where it needs to and the sealer will not work.
Now this brings me on to the sealer
If you do some basic research you will find that there are a LOT of sealants to choose from with a big difference in price.
Now I could spend a long time explaining the difference between them all and bore you.
If you really want to know all the techi stuff that goes into choosing the right sealant Google it 🙂
The fact is I have built a reputation and I want to keep it.
I would not do that by using a product that was inferior. Nor would I use a cheaper product and charge over the odds to make a few pounds.
I love the results that the sealant I use produces and so do my customers.
No it is not cheap.
SO what does the sealant actually do?
Well for one thing it seals 🙂
It seals the blocks which in turn protects them from the harmful UV rays.
It protects them from the rain.
It protects them from oils and other spills.
And it brings out the natural colours in the blocks making you drive look like new.
Not only that but the Smartseal bonds the sand, which means it helps to keep the weeds at bay.
